Cherry Pop Games today announced a major update to newly released VR Football Club, introducing AI bots, 360 Room-scale play and, by popular demand, head facing controls – making the world’s first VR Football game much easier to pick up and play for PlayStation®VR, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift.

AI Bots have been unleashed across all formats, creating an environment where everyone will always find a match, driving home the intricacies of team play. For HTC Vive & Oculus Rift, Roomscale allows free movement to really let loose your inner Ronaldo, and control refinements for both PlayStation and PC formats improve the control system further.

For those that use the PlayStation VR there’s more good news – VRFC is currently available with 50% off on the PSN Store.

“The whistle has just blown for the first half of VRFC, and already the game is transformed, VRFC is a revolution in gaming – it will change VR games forever,” said Gemma Jessop, Business Development Director, Cherry Pop Games. “It may not be FIFA (yet) but it captures the team aspect of the game like no other can and the addition of AI is a huge step in the right direction.  This is a major upgrade for owners of our beautiful game and is entirely free. The AI Bots can be used to fill unoccupied slots, or the player can play solo just against AI opponents.”

Jessop added: “VRFC is a world first, and as a small team we have attempted what many thought was impossible, and from the outset we have actively listened to the community and acted on the suggestions provided. What is important to know is, that this is not the end of the story for us, it is merely the beginning; these are just the first steps in making this the biggest VR game ever made. Expect more announcements over the coming weeks.”

Created in Unreal, and utilising Cherry Pop Games K4 physics system, so you can bend it like Beckham, VRFC allows you to kick, dribble, tackle, pass, cross, head and shoot in VR, with a first of its kind implementation of Agile locomotion™, never-before seen in VR.

With up-to eight players online, including AI bots, VRFC is a competitive online and crossplay compatible VR title like no other, where all the action and movement shines in a 1st person viewpoint. With a smooth 90fps frame rate, VRFC offers more than just fun; it offers an energetic and engaging upper body workout that will keep you on your toes until the final whistle. As with the sport itself, VRFC is easy to play but harder to master, and with a range of training activities you can develop your skills to become a true legend of the game.
